Mountains
Set at the foot of the southern alpine range, this teritory is full of opportunities for mountain lovers, who through wild environments and unspoilt valleys can try out every kind of experience that this natural setting can offer: from the pleasure of a tranquil walk in green parkland to a more challenging high altitude trek, from rock-climbing to cave excursions, from skiing to paragliding.
The main valleys are: Valsassina, Val d' Intelvi and Val Menaggio.
Valsassina is surely one of the most pleasant areas of the Lombardy, the reason is mainly the variety of its landscape.
Val d' Intelvi lies approximately 20 km. north from COMO, between the Lake Como and Lake of Lugano and is furrowed by the torrent Telo.
It is famous, in the Italian artistic panorama, for the exceptional contribution supplied in the centuries of the Baroque and the Rinascimento.
It is a sunny and lively valley, open on mountains that little exceed the thousand meters of height, characterized by greens pastures and morainic declivities.
